“What is a DMC and How Can They Make Your Life Easier?”
Description:
Destination Management Companies (DMCs) are logistics management experts specializing in a local destination. Basically, a DMC serves as a one-stop resource to support meeting planners in a particular city or region. They provide valuable assistance to planners by managing tasks such as venue selection & coordination, themed events, VIP services, décor & floral arrangements, entertainment and catering, transportation, and on-site management.
This workshop will focus on learning about how Destination Management Companies operate and how they can benefit you. Whether you are a supplier or a planner, it is very useful to learn about this integral part of the meeting planning profession and the importance of creating relationships with them. Whether the meetings you plan are local, national or international, DMC’s can make the process easier for you.
We will discuss:
· What services do DMCs provide?
· What criteria are useful in choosing a DMC?
· What skills does it take to get a job with a DMC?
· When is it appropriate to partner with a DMC?
· How can suppliers benefit from DMC’s referrals?
· How does a DMC price its services?
